Frequently Asked Questions

Not anymore! It used to be my bread and butter but it drove me crazy and was awful for my back. Now, I sew when the creativity strikes me!
-
Welllll…no. But! I can teach you how to do it yourself! My sewing lesson rates are $45 an hour. Bare bones basic sewing machine operation is needed.
-
Yes. For an added fee of $20, I will adjust the fit to your measurements—within reason. If it takes major surgery (lengthening a skirt, taking in a gusset, extending straps with fringe, etc), I would suggest we turn it into an hour long lesson where you can learn how to do it yourself.

Showgirl costumes are traditionally cleaned via a vodka/water solution (usually 75/25, with a clean smelling essential oil as an optional additive). Fill a spray bottle and spray the costume while it is still sweaty for maximum bacteria fighting power.
For chiffon skirts with dirty hems, try soaking them in a water/borax solution.
If you must machine wash, be sure to put in a pillow case first to catch any rhinestones or beads that get knocked loose. Cold water only, gentle cycle, low heat mode on dryer or lay flat to dry depending on materials.
