Frequently Asked Questions

Not anymore! It used to be my bread and butter but it drove me crazy and was awful for my back. Now, I sew when the creativity strikes me!
-
Welllll…no. But! I can teach you how to do it yourself! My sewing lesson rates are $45 an hour. Bare bones basic sewing machine operation is needed.
-
Yes. For an added fee of $20, I will adjust the fit to your measurements—within reason. If it takes major surgery (lengthening a skirt, taking in a gusset, extending straps with fringe, etc), I would suggest we turn it into an hour long lesson where you can learn how to do it yourself.

Showgirl costumes are traditionally cleaned via a vodka/water solution (usually 75/25, with a clean smelling essential oil as an optional additive). Fill a spray bottle and spray the costume while it is still sweaty for maximum bacteria fighting power.
For chiffon skirts with dirty hems, try soaking them in a water/borax solution.
If you must machine wash, be sure to put in a pillow case first to catch any rhinestones or beads that get knocked loose. Cold water only, gentle cycle, low heat mode on dryer or lay flat to dry depending on materials.
One of a kind, specialty costuming for burlesque, circus, dance, mermaid, e-girls, and more. I make costumes for ALL sizes and gusset requirements, including the occasional blue-law friendly gear!
I love getting inspired and just impulsively making something. That's how Khajiit Day got started! On this dance store, you'll find (unique and somethings) weird costumes, sometimes fully built, where it just needs your final touches to be your next signature piece. Other times it's a lonely g-string and booty boosters looking for a costume to complete and it happens to be the EXACT shade of green you were looking for. I get inspired to make the costume. The costume inspires you to make a new act. BOOM. We both make money. And that’s showbiz!
I've been making specialty act costumes since 2009! I received my first sewing machine for Christmas when I was only 19 years old. My first costume was a black and gold fringey thing inspired by the FitTV show "Shimmy" (blast from the past!). I've made mermaid tails, costumes for belly dance, burlesque, circus, club stripping, ballroom, wasteland, and more, many cosplays for various cons, and even a strippable Catholic priests cassock! These days I mostly love to sew costume bases, like a simply decorated thong and bikini top, so customers can have fun rhinestoning to their hearts delight! Have Questions?
